"Building Character through Hands-On Learning"
Did you know that SNU’s School of Education has a Laboratory School where education majors take classes, conduct case studies, make observations, and learn to apply what they learn by working with Pre-K through 8th-grade students?
At SNU, we believe in applying what you learn by doing. The Lab School integrates hands-on learning opportunities for future educators to apply what they’ve learned as early as their freshmen year!
The SNU Lab School is a certified demonstration school and a part of the A+ Network of schools. Our doors are open, and we'd love to share what we do with you!

The role of the teacher is shifting from content-deliverer to facilitator/ guide. Students work collaboratively to solve problems, with the teacher providing support only when needed. Students are encouraged to make their own decisions about how best to do their work and demonstrate their understanding. This active learning process fosters student independence, ownership of his/her work, and the development of 21st century/workplace skills.
Project-based learning is a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire deeper knowledge. In this process students use empathy to connect with an iterative human-centered design approach that gives them freedom to practice applying a growth mindset as they develop grit.
